Geopolitical tensions, shifting trade regimes and intensifying global competition are reshaping markets. At the same time, rapid advances in automation, digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming production systems and redefining how value is created. A global war for talent and an aging workforce add further pressure on industrial companies.

At the St.Gallen Production Management Conference 2026, executives share insights from real‑world practice. Together, we will explore how organizations respond to shifting competitive dynamics, integrate new technologies, and adapt skills, structures and processes to succeed in the next industrial era.

At the annual Production Management Conference, the Chair of Production Management has awarded the Swiss Manufacturing Award since 2019. The prize is based on the results of the Swiss Manufacturing Survey and recognizes companies that have made an outstanding contribution to Switzerland as a manufacturing location over the past year. With this award, we aim to counter the common public narrative of a declining industrial base in Switzerland and demonstrate that successful production in Switzerland is still very much possible.
Especially in these volatile times, we want to highlight companies that are strengthening or expanding their production activities within Switzerland. The award ceremony takes place on the evening of the first day of the conference and is one of the event’s key highlights.
